The Oak Ridge company will develop a test to detect the bacteria known to cause Lyme disease and others such as those found in Lone Star ticks. Although the connection isn’t proven, these bacteria in Lone Star ticks are often associated with a condition similar to Lyme disease called southern tick associated rash illnesses.
