I have not read it, but I am definitely intrigued. I've read a lot of good things about the book, and I have it on my "to do" list. Have you had a chance to read it yet?

OK, I'm finally going to respond to this. I think it's taken me so long because every time I think about the book I just get so angry at how the medical establishment has screwed us over.
The book is amazing. Much of what she writes I already knew in bits and pieces, but she puts everything together in a cohesive narrative.
I also learned a lot that was new to me, such as the fact that one researcher found spirochete DNA in a significant number of the autopsied brains of Alzheimer patients.
She goes over the history of of Lyme and subsequent research on the disease. She definitely sides with patients in the controversy. This means a lot to me because she is such an experienced and respected science journalist. Some here may feel that she was not critical enough of LLMD's and patients and the problems they have sometimes created for themselves.

I want to read it, I have not yet.
Yes lymeland has created their own set of problems. However, I don't know that her book is the forum to air that out. I will not criticize that.
Besides, while I do have some criticism of ilads, they were ste up to help us. some good docs take a substantial risk helping us. That I freely admit to.
Lymeland creating its own set of problems is a whole OTHER book, I think. Maybe not best discussed in Pam's, because I don't think that's the point of the story.
First let us deal with the first controversy publically...the idsa/general practitioner issues of denial.
Maybe I will write a book on how we shot ourselves in the feet at some point.
