I'm trying to prepare for my black belt test (if all goes well, I'll be testing on the 28th), and last night I trained pretty hard ... despite the fact that I've been on the fence of a flare for the last two weeks.
Everything hurts today. EVERYTHING. I wish I could feel like I was making progress, but it seems that the plateau is a vast one.
At least I'm not getting any worse, at least that I'm aware of. I've had a couple of new issues, but nothing worth mentioning at this point....

That's awesome that you're doing that. I hope your body behaves for you

I've been having to take the training slower than I'd like, but I've been able to average once every three or four days. I'm crossing my fingers; this belt has been a LONG time coming.

Hey- all things are relative- right now I don't think I would qualify for white belt! ;D I wish my daughter had been able to continue- she stopped at brown/black belt. Good luck to you-that's quite an accomplishment. (I'm glad there's a computer between us in case you ever feel threatened by me. )

I'm sorry your daughter had to stop training ... I'm pretty sure I'd be in the same boat, if it weren't for the fact that I'm married to my sensei. I've been at brown belt for a couple of years, now, just the same, and I was stuck for two years before earning that one, as well. All Lyme-related complications.
LOL, don't you know that one learns karate, with the hope s/he never has to use it against anyone else (other than sparring, of course, but that's all in fun)?!
*edited to move a comma ... still working on my first cup of coffee....

It's just not fair ... I haven't trained in days, and the pain and fatigue in my upper back and arms is profound. I'm not postponing my test, but it seems that I may have to test in excruciating pain....
