You mentioned at LNE your speech issues that just come on every once in a while. It sounds like an issue that I first noticed a few years ago, and I would like to know if you have any real info on the matter. I'd really appreciate it.
Do you know of any helpful technical terms to Google?
My mom has had the same speech issues for decades, and I remember as a teenager being annoyed by her suddenly sounding drunk for a moment, or stammering over a word. I guess it turned into one of those "judge not" issues, because I think about her every time it happens to me....
Just trippin'....

No idea. Actually I was surprised to see 3rd/sir had this as well.
Its just occasionally. I'll try to talk and not realize I am going to have trouble. As cobby can tell you, normally I am a fast talker.
However...when it hits I sound like I have some strange disease. But then it goes away and I am fine.

Sir Real (Third Man or Mac MacDonald?) seems to think his issue is different than mine. I don't get extended bouts in which my tongue is numb, or anything like that; I just get to where, out of the blue, I'll sound drunk for a word or two OR I get a word that, no matter how many times I start over, I cannot get the sounds to come out just right, in just the right order. And then I'm fine.
I did have an even more unusual episode when I first came down with the Lyme, before even the doxy, when I lost the ability to speak - completely - for about five minutes or so. It was absolutely terrifying.
I don't know if a similar mechanism is involved ... or even if what I get is the same as your problem, but you've got me curious, now.
The biggie that hit me was this: if some kind of bug in the brain is potentially responsible for this, then this would add a whole new sense of credence to my theory that Mom gave me something in utero (which caused the swollen lymph nodes, urinary tract/bowel issues, OCD/anxiety, and joint problems from childhood) and she needs some kind of treatment. She has literally lost her mind, as of late, although she has always been crazy, to varying degrees; this whole last month, she has attempted suicide more times than I can count on both hands (I'm going to come right out and say it: Canadian healthcare is NO BETTER than that of the US; one is just less expensive). One of my sisters is convinced Mom's possessed.
My answer: Yeah, she's possessed, alright ... by spirochetes, most likely.
