I feel like, emotionally, I handle stress pretty well these days. Yeah, I have issues with anxiety, but I have been keeping a decent head on my shoulders, just the same ... and a lot has been going on with my family as of late. I have been avoiding stressors that are in my power to avoid, such as not addressing the agoraphobia. I've found, however, that lately even the tiniest excess of stress is enough to throw my illness into rare form. I've been almost completely bedridden, with the exception of a couple of days, for over a week, now, and it seems like every time I feel like I'm making some progress, something happens to bring the stress levels back up. Maybe I'm relapsing ... or maybe I am developing lupus ... or maybe I've just lost my mind. Whatever the cause, I'm currently feeling a whole new level of discouragement.... I may need to write off half my family, just for the sake of my health.

Feeling a little better today ... but I do plan on on sticking pretty close to bed, just the same, not to take any chances.

Out of idle curiosity, have you had any virus titres done? If so, were any like EBV high? Ever been tested for adrenal fatigue? Just wondering if maybe the combination of the two, plus TBI are doing a number on you in combination with the stress. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Nope, haven't been tested for either. I'm sure that there are multiple factors involved; I'm just not sure I'm up to any more doctors ... I have definitely developed a phobia.

Btw, if you're interesting in getting some testing without dealing with a doc, check out www.canaryclub.org. They offer a list of labs that do hormonal testing for individuals, although some may need a doc to receive the results (maybe the PCP you don't seem to hate too terribly much?). If you join (free and no spam) they offer discounts on some testing. Some of the labs offer additional testing as well. If you're considering cortisol testing, I'd suggest going through Diagnos-tech. From my experience, their testing seems to be the most comprehensive for the money.
