Last night I was thinking about the LDA and other various Lyme activist groups ... and it hit me: with all the money some of these groups make, why hasn't anyone sprung for a nationwide commercial spot? Nothing fancy, just something letting people know that Lyme disease is in their state, to check for ticks, and to see a doctor if they suspect tick-borne illness ... after all, awareness and prevention are the only real ways to ensure fewer people suffer, overall, the same way we have, right?
I'm guessing a single, prime spot would cost a couple million dollars; Doctor Jones's attorneys have probably collected that much a few times over by now, so it is clear that a decent fund-raising campaign, just reaching out to other patients, would be enough to cover all necessary costs.
Why hasn't anyone already done this?
