I think we’ve all been desperate enough, at one point or another, to believe various parts of the Lymeland dogma. Who wouldn’t want to believe that, despite all of the other failed treatments, all one has to do is follow this “protocol” or that, “detox” a little, and life will return to normal? I bought into bits of the dogma here and there for a short while, taking advice from “old-timers” at a different discussion board ... I even tried Epsom salt/peroxide baths and a bottle of one of Jernigan’s concoctions a “friend” sent me. I experienced a few other interesting pieces of Lymeland before I finally decided to get serious about my research. “Detox,” at least the way it is used in Lymeland, is IMHO a scam. Our bodies take in and clean out numerous environmental and internal toxins on a daily basis, and there is NO evidence whatsoever that Borrelia have the capacity to raise ammonia levels in our brains.
