Allow me the liberty to moan and groan.
Hidradenitis suppurativa has plagued me for many years.
Stage II-Recurrent abscesses, single or multiple widely separated lesions, with sinus tract formation. (Frequent inflammations restrict movement and may require minor surgery such as incision and drainage.)

Causes
A genetic predisposition to hidradenitis suppurativa likely exists, with one study noting that 38% of patients had a relative with hidradenitis.
Excessive perspiration, often observed in athletes and the obese, may contribute to clogging of the apocrine glands.
Disease activity may be related to stress and to cigarette smoking.
Hidradenitis may be observed as a primary condition without any obvious cause, but it may be observed in association with the following conditions:
Crohn disease
Irritable bowel syndrome
Down syndrome
Certain forms of arthritis
Graves disease or Hashimoto thyroiditis
Sjögren syndrome
Herpes simplex

I have IBS and Hashimoto thyroiditis.

Anyway my worst worst flare came after the progression of untreated Lyme Disease. With a sinus tract developing in my groin area.
It was hard to walk. I had the choice at the time to either have the lesions lanced at the gyn's office or go home and spend the next two weeks in a warm soaking bathtub- I chose the latter.
Somehow the possibility of a scapel slicing my labia was too much to even contemplate. I was also on clyndamycin.
Thankfully the flare ran its course, and I had no more flares since treatment for Lyme Disease-of course during that time I was on daily doses of antibiotics.
But now I have been off antibiotics again, and this time it seems that HS is haunting me again under my right armpit. This sucks, it really does. It's gross, painful, another autoimmune orphan disease.
WaaaaWaaaaWaaaaa
I have a daily inspiration calendar at work and May 14th message was "It's not the burden we carry, but how we carry it"
Guess I should shift this burden to the "this too shall pass" saddle bag.
