www.freerice.comMight improve my scrabble game too-of course I need to improve my word retention -as opposed to water retention. 140 grains of rice so far on a few lucky guesses.

Would like to add here that I was an English Major in College- but heavily inebriated at the time. Booze destroyed a few brain cells long before Lyme took over to finish the job.

My word retention is not what it used to be, either, unfortunately ... another English major, right here, too.... Maybe this game will help.

Try sitting in a room full of nutty professors ... those crazy philosopher types can be a tough lot to keep up with.

Am I the lone philosophy major here? Being a philosopher, I have a problem for every solution. - Robert Zend Me thinks you married the right woman! ;D

What's the difference between an intellectual and a philosopher? This is a serious question for which I will offer my own suggestion. An intellectual (thinks he) has all the answers. A philosopher has all the questions. I am married to, but not living with, an intellectual-who has all the answers and a closed mind. A swelled head seldom covers a broad mind.

I think Haku knows enough to know he knows nothing....

So I just played Free Rice-over 2200 grains of rice donated-and my score was up to 41.
A bit better than the first time I tried. Some really lucky guesses.
I thought of a philosophical question the other day-which I was going to "discuss" with Haku or whoever else wanted to join in-but OF COURSE I did not write it down-so I forgot what it was.
If the question ever makes it to the forefront again I will post it.

I start losing it when I get to the high 30's ... 41 is hard to get to! I'm sure Haku would love any philosophical question you had ... I probably would, too. It's funny; I'm kind of an honorary philosophy major at the department, and a couple of times the colloquium speakers have mistaken me for one of the professors, with the questions I have asked regarding their given subjects. I guess I'm a natural, even though my passion always has been and always will be the written word.
