It seems Connecticut is trying to compensate for the level of missed diagnoses and rework the state reporting numbers; this could be good and bad, hopefully more accurate.
The California report caught my eye because I grew up mainly in the Bay Area ... and I have often wondered if I may have caught a Borrelia strain all those years ago, before the first signs of "fibromyalgia" came; I also have to question if that's where I picked up the WA-1, as it has been reported there....

www.kansas.com/news/state/story/236434.html"A Topeka physician has pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless involuntary manslaughter in the death of a woman he was treating for Lyme disease using an unauthorized method. "John Toth, 58, also agreed to surrender his medical license for seriously injuring a second patient using the same method. "Toth initially was charged with reckless second-degree murder in the death of Beverly A. Wunder, 47, of Topeka, and reckless aggravated battery for his treatment of Bertha "Susie" Groves. But prosecutors dropped the battery charge because Groves did not want Toth prosecuted in her case, and because the doctor agreed to give up his medical license." Note how fervently Groves defends Toth, and how adamant she is that his deadly "treatment" benefited her, despite the serious liver damage: "Groves, who had to be hospitalized in serious condition with kidney failure after receiving a similar treatment, said overall Toth's treatment was beneficial and substantially improved her health. "'I knew that there could be extremely serious, adverse effects up to and including death as a result of the treatment, and I chose of my own free will to accept the possible adverse effects when I authorized Dr. Toth to perform the intravenous bismuth procedure on me,' Groves wrote in an affidavit. "Groves said that if her case had gone to court, she was prepared to testify on the doctor's behalf." That one is Jeer-worthy ... I just added Toth to our Hall of Shame.

I saw this and have this fantasy of applying. But I am full of intentions-good and bad. My follow through seems to be busted. I do spend a lot of time imagining being a part of this.

I would have liked to have done something like that back when I had the insomnia, brain fog, and peripheral neuropathy. I am pretty sure my brain would come up relatively normal these days (unless anxiety shows up on a SPECT). I am still very excited about this study ... I wish one of us had the means to send the whole lot of us there. Maybe one of us will sell a book one of these days....

Are you on their waiting list for future studies?
