Hello everyone, I am Keri, and I'm in charge of Stitching for Lyme. Well... not in CHARGE... but anyway... OK, so what we're doing is knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidering, etc. items to sell with a big ole' tick on them to sell to raise money for Lyme awareness. Lady Enigma gets to decide where the money goes, since I'm pretty much just full of good intentions, and obsessed with yarn. I am opening up a shop to sell these wares on etsy.com. Up till now we've been selling them by word of mouth. I will email the Tick chart that the mitten on my picture was done with to anyone who wants it. Unless someone of the admin variety can show me how to upload it here? Hmmm? Anyone? Should anyone care to donate finished items, supplies, etc, please contact me at kandrews41006@yahoo.com or thru my blog onecrazystitch.blogspot.com. I'm going to try to be more active here, but I'm a little intimidated by all the medical jargon, to be completely honest.

Yeah- thanks for posting this-now I know where to do my Christmas shopping.
I'll check out the website as soon as I can.
But here's a question for you-do you have enough knitters?
My mother knits caps for infants at a local hospital. She is the only one who is the least bit sympathetic to my having Lyme disease.
The rest of the family seems to be blatantly "inconvenienced" and resentful of my limitations.
She has the infant caps down pat, and cranks them out at a pretty fast rate-but she might like a change of pace. Just a thought.
I will surely visit the website. Thanks
Cobby

Keri, thanks for keeping this project alive! I still would like all proceeds to go to Columbia University's Lyme Research Center, even though it has already opened. I think funding their research is our best avenue right now. I think you need server space to upload images. Maybe I can put the tick pattern on "Redefining Lyme?"
Cobby, there are only a few of us doing this, and it seems that we all took kind of a break over the warmer seasons. The more the merrier, especially now that it is getting cold out again; I'm sure Keri would agree.

Cobby - First, I want you to know you crack me up. I love your posts. ;D
OK, so if your mom would like to donate her time, and talent we would LOVE that! My picture on the left has the tick I designed on it. Anything with that tick, I figure, can be made to think of as Lyme Awareness. I'm not exactly full of marketing strategies... more of a grass roots type-o-deal. Mainly I'm trying to build up an inventory...
Lady E - (hey is it cool if I call you that? It sounds so Renaissance and hip hop...)
You're the boss, applesauce! I know you know where the $$ would be best used. Speaking of inventory... do you still have the things you had before, back in the day, or are they all gone? Hahahaha that was hilarious... (For everyone else, I'm bi-polar, and a little on the manic side today, so sorry if I'm annoying...)
I'll get that chart up on my blog soon, promise! ;D

I set up the etsy shop. onecrazystitch.etsy.com(I had to use my existing username) There's nothing THERE yet, but if you want to make or sell something lemme know! OH and I need an idea for the banner. Like a picture. Any suggestions?

I still have that one really thick, plush one I made ... but I'm getting a bit attached to it, so I might just hold on to that one. :-)
I am totally on-board for helping to build the inventory back up, however (I just need to finish Kate's scarf ... and I keep missing a dang stitch and having to frog it down to nothing - ugh!).

I will teach you how to drop only one stitch back to the mistake to repair it. You shouldn't be frogging the whole thing! How very frustrating!
But, yeah anything you feel like making, lemme know. No rush or anything, either. ;D

Hey Lady E, I'm designing a new Lyme scarf. It's a shadow knit scarf which means when you turn it one way you see stripes, but when you turn it another way you see an image, in this case a tick. I'm thinking of calling it "Enigma" what do you think?

Just a quick update: I started a SFL group on Ravelry (addictive website for knitters, etc.) and I already have 2 other members. (I set it up 16 hours ago!) And I've linked here so maybe we'll meet some!

Thanks! I need to get more yarn, but I'm ready to start Stitching for Lyme again! Kate's scarf turned out really nice ... and I tried to make another one in pink, but didn't have enough yarn. I still have a little bit of that fluffy Lyme green, but I've been using that for my ticks.

Hey everyone, I finally transposed the tick chart. It can be used with anything, knitting, cross stitch, whatever. www.onecrazystitch.blogspot.com/2007/12/tick-chart.htmlThis link is to my blog entry, but there's a link there that will take you a page where you can print it.
