Thanks You folks here are those most reasonable objective "been around the Lyme block" people I have found. Without that test coming back pos - it's hard to be confident about IV drugs and such being the answer. CFR says they try to do turnaround within 48 hours of receiving your samples - so yes, pretty fast! I was tested neg at the start by Dr C for Babs, and Ehrlichia - But not sure about Bart... The ID docs I saw scoffed at any of that stuff as a cause as it is all "self-resolving" sez they.... As to Ep Barr - That is where my original GP screwed me - Did an antibody instead of a full panel back when I got sick! So the panels NOW show way pos for IGG and IGM but not the acute / antibody one... So the ID docs say "can't tell you when you got infected" If I had that full panel when I got sick, and it was ALL neg... THEN I would know it was a plausable explanation for my current situation. As is, one ID doc says "yes" the other says "absolutely not".

That's right ... I remember now; you did mention that before. I think that is what frustrates me the most: the ID docs insisting everything is self-resolving, running the wrong tests, and/or insisting that you have nothing that can be treated ... and then the LLMDs on the other end of the pole, treating first and asking questions later. Where is the middle ground? I don't accept any answers at face value anymore ... something for which I can actually thank this illness. Where the IV drugs are concerned: if they help, then there's something there causing you to benefit from the treatment. We just need to figure out what, specifically, it is....
